Item training
To begin practicing, tap the tab named "Quiz".
List selection

You can see the available study lists and the number of questions that are due. If "Random" is ticked, the items will be shown in random order (recommended). Select the lists that you want to practice, and tap "Start". The list selection screen will be be replaced by the quiz screen.
Quiz Mode
The quiz mode has two purposes:
To assess which items/skills you master.To let you read and learn the answer to unknown items/skills.
You will be asked to try to recall the answer to one question at a time.

(1) shows the index of the current question and how many questions there are to answer. The string "Word item: from reading to kanji" tells you that the current item is a word (not a kanji). It also tells you that you are given the reading of a word, and should should try to remember how it is written in kanji. Both the initial information and the answer is displayed in (2).
If you are certain that you know the answer, you can tap "Known" in button group (3) right away. However, if you think you know it, but want to verify that you're correct before continuing, you can tap "Answer" to see the answer. If you were correct, you can go on to tap "Known"; of not, tap "Unknown". The other buttons work like this:
Clue: Tap this to get a clue. The clue is the attribute of the item that is neither the information you get, nor the answer: in a "from reading to kanji" type question, for instance, the clue is the meaning of the item. Of course, this function should be used conservatively, if at all.
Ignore: Tap this if you don't want to answer. The question will be postponed to the next quiz session.
Finish: Tap this to return to the quiz list selection screen.
(4) is a scratch pad that you can use as you see fit. You may want to use this to practice drawing kanji before viewing the answer. The buttons to the right of the drawing area perform "Undo" and "Clear" functions.
Finally, (5) is a popup menu with the following actions:
"Show scratch pad"
"Don't quiz this skill for this item". This function is best described with an example: If you are asked to recall how to write a word in kanji, but you realize that the word has obscure or obsolete kanji, you can use this alternative to tell JARDS Mobile not to ask you for this skill again, for this particular item. If the item already has custom skills, this skill will be removed; if it is set to "List defaults", it will be changed to custom with the appropriate skills activated.
Hint:You can control the quiz mode with the keyboard. The functions are mapped as follows:
Known = up
Unknown = down
Answer = space
Clue = left
Ignore = right
